Full Job Description

Position: IT Support Technician.

Location: Centurion, South Africa

Contract Duration: Six-Months

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and solutions-oriented IT Support Technician with a minimum of 2 years’ experience to join our team on a six-month contract basis in Centurion. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual who can troubleshoot issues efficiently, support end-users, and contribute to maintaining secure and reliable IT environments.

Responsibilities:

The employee will be responsible for the following duties:

Provide first- and second-line technical support to end-users (remote and on-site).
Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software, and hardware.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in line with company policies.
Monitor system performance and ensure optimal functionality of IT infrastructure.
Assist in network setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure proper documentation of systems and configurations.
Perform routine system updates, backups, and security checks.
Log, track, and resolve IT support tickets within agreed service levels.
Provide guidance and basic training to users on IT systems and applications.
Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when required.
Ensure adherence to IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection regulations.
Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees (equipment setup and access provisioning).
Document technical procedures, solutions, and support activities.
Communicate system issues, risks, and delays to management promptly.
Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in IT support.

Qualifications:

· Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

· Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, N+, Microsoft certifications)

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: R14 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
