Senior Bookkeeper Location: Graaff-Reinet, EC or Paarl, WC

Hardveld Holdings (Pty) Ltd is looking for a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of the full accounting and bookkeeping function across multiple entities within the group. What You'll Be Doing Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain and manage the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
- Perform and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Cash Flow, Debtors & Creditors Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow requirements across the group.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Ensure the timely collection of outstanding debtors and payment of creditors.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
Statutory Compliance
- Prepare and submit VAT, PAYE, UIF and other statutory returns.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with SARS and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate statutory records and supporting documentation.
Audit & Governance
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and reviews.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions where required.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Develop, implement and monitor effective financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and financial procedures.
- Promote best practices in financial management and reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide financial information and support to management and directors.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, regulatory bodies and external stakeholders.
What You'll Need
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Management (NQF 7).
- Valid Driver's Licence.
- 5–10 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Proven experience managing the full accounting cycle.
- Experience preparing management accounts and annual financial statements.
Advantageous Experience
- Experience working within a group company structure.
- Knowledge of payroll systems, specifically People300 or VIP.
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles.
- Professional registration with SAICA, SAIPA, or SAIBA.
