The Executive: Sales leads and scales Optix's commercial engine across the Africa region. Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the role is responsible for regional revenue performance across five interconnected sales lanes: direct enterprise new business, direct regional new business, existing customer growth, regional partner sales, and the regional execution of multinational customer engagements.
The role is accountable for setting and executing the regional sales strategy, building and developing high-performing direct and channel sales teams, deepening value within Optix's existing customer base, and coordinating with global counterparts where multinational customers and global partners require consistent execution across geographies.
This is a senior commercial leadership role that combines strategic ownership with operational discipline. The incumbent is expected to drive measurable revenue growth, build durable customer and partner relationships, and represent Optix's purpose of getting everyone safely home at the most senior levels of the regional market.
EXPERIENCE
- Twelve to fifteen years of progressive B2B sales experience, with a minimum of five years in a senior sales leadership role.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue growth across multiple sales motions — direct enterprise, mid-market, account management and channel.
- Direct experience leading sales teams across multiple countries within Africa.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling channel and partner ecosystems at regional level.
- Experience working with multinational customers and global technology partners is highly advantageous.
- Background in telematics, fleet, logistics, SaaS or adjacent technology sectors is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce as the system of record for sales execution and forecasting.
- Experience leading a sales organisation through structural change, while maintaining commercial performance
- Develop and implement the regional sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets across all sales lanes including direct enterprise, mid-market, account management, channel, and multinational customer engagements.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team across multiple African countries, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to deepen customer value, expand partner ecosystems, and drive collaborative business growth.
- Manage sales forecasting, pipeline development, and performance reporting using Salesforce to ensure accurate revenue projections and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate with global counterparts to ensure cohesive execution of multinational accounts and alignment with the company's international sales objectives.
- Drive structural and organizational change within the sales function, maintaining focus on commercial results and team engagement during periods of transition.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and innovative sales approaches to scale revenue, create new business possibilities, and enhance competitive positioning.
- Champion the Optix Promises by leading with empathy, integrity, and purpose, ensuring these values are embedded in every team and partner interaction.
- Oversee the regional sales budget, resource allocation, and performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency and maximize return on investment.
