The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Physiotherapist to join our growing team in Cape Town. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse patient population while contributing to the development of clinical excellence within a progressive and expanding practice.
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload comprising musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, sports, post-operative, and chronic pain patients, while also playing a key role in mentoring junior clinicians and supporting the continued growth of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and formulate evidence-based diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Manage a diverse caseload including musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and chronic pain conditions.
- Design and implement individualized rehabilitation programmes focused on restoring function and optimizing performance.
- Deliver exercise-based rehabilitation and patient education to support long-term outcomes.
- Utilize objective outcome measures and assessment technologies to monitor patient progress and ensure quality care.
Leadership and Mentorship
- Provide clinical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior physiotherapists, community service therapists, and students.
- Contribute to in-service training sessions and ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of clinical standards, pathways, and best-practice protocols.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and clinical excellence within the team.
Collaboration and Community Impact
- Work closely with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in injury-prevention initiatives, wellness programmes, and community engagement activities.
- Support partnerships with healthcare institutions, businesses, and universities.
- Contribute to business growth initiatives and help strengthen Physio4All's reputation as a leader in rehabilitation and performance healthcare.
Administration and Quality
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records and documentation.
- Utilize digital systems and reporting tools effectively.
- Participate in quality improvement projects and outcome tracking initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to ethical, professional, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), or eligibility to register.
- Several years of post-graduate clinical experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, and sports physiotherapy caseloads.
- Strong clinical reasoning, assessment, and treatment-planning skills across acute, sub-acute, and chronic conditions.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching junior clinicians, students, or support staff.
- Proficiency in developing and progressing individualized exercise and rehabilitation programmes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic and patient-centered approach.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
- Willingness to work across multiple clinic locations when operationally required.
Desirable
- Experience with technology-assisted assessment tools and outcome measures.
- Interest in sports rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and performance optimization.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in patient care.
