Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mid-Level Graphic Designer to join our creative team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality retail packaging and ensuring brand consistency across multiple product categories and brands. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial design principles, print production processes, and packaging development from concept through to print-ready artwork.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Design & Development
- Design and develop retail packaging across multiple product categories and brands.
- Apply and interpret brand guidelines accurately across packaging ranges.
- Create visually compelling packaging designs that align with brand positioning and commercial objectives.
Artwork & Print Production
- Prepare print-ready artwork, including correct dielines, bleeds, colour conversions, and file specifications.
- Ensure all artwork meets print production standards and technical requirements.
- Manage packaging revisions and updates as required.
Image Editing & Quality Control
- Deep-etch, retouch, and optimise product imagery supplied by local and international suppliers.
- Conduct quality checks on artwork and imagery to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure specifications, product features, warnings, barcodes, and legal requirements are correctly represented.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Development, Traffic, Marketing, and Quality Control teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure packaging requirements are met within project timelines.
- Implement feedback efficiently while maintaining high design standards.
Project Management & Compliance
- Manage multiple packaging projects and product ranges simultaneously.
- Adhere to internal workflows, standard operating procedures, and approval processes.
- Maintain organised project files and documentation.
- Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Solid understanding of print production, packaging design, dielines, finishes, and packaging constraints.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong quality control skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment.
- Positive attitude with the ability to accept and implement feedback constructively.
Education and Experience
- 3–5 years' experience in packaging design, preferably within a retail or FMCG environment.
- Proven experience preparing print-ready packaging artwork.
- Experience working with multiple brands and product categories.
- Experience within consumer electronics or technical product industries is advantageous.
Advantageous Skills
- Knowledge of international packaging requirements, including compliance icons, warnings, and multilingual packaging layouts.
- Experience working with Asian suppliers or factory-supplied assets.
- Experience working with licensed international brands such as Disney, Nickelodeon, DC, or similar.
