Full Job Description

A well-established casket manufacturing company situated in Phoenix , Industrial Park ,Durban seeks to employ the services of a Creditors Clerk , Based at the Head Office in Phoenix;

Duties and responsibilities include but is not limited to ;

Responsible for Creditors Payments, invoicing and recording of financial transactions

Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring that all Supplier Invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
Implementation of Standard Operation Procedures for Accounts Payables
Review invoices for payment, ensuring that all invoices are accurate and comply with company policies and procedures, and SARS regulations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
Develop and maintain relationships with Suppliers to ensure timely and accurate payment processing.
Ensure correct processing to the general ledger accounts.
Manage the month-end close process for accounts payable, ensuring that all accruals are accurately recorded, including reviewing of journals.
Financial analysis of new and existing Suppliers
To undertake any other relevant duties requested by the Admin and Financial Manager
Managing workload between different Suppliers
Creditors Reconciliations ( Balancing Age Analysis to the Creditors Recon )
Maintain and update the Creditors filing system
Effective Communication with Suppliers in resolving queries ( within a 24-hour turnaround time )
Ensure the Creditors data base is updated with all requested information
Responsible for the full creditor's function of the organization and ensure that all creditors are paid accurately and timeously ( Attention to detail )
To complete Supplier Credit Application, screen Terms and Conditions ensuring Suretyship is being excluded and submit all Fica documents to Supplier within 24 hours
Computer Literacy (Microsoft office suite and email etiquette and Numeracy skills)
Follow up on Supplier Tax Invoices
Obtain Supplier statements monthly and reconcile to payables ledger
Send remittances to suppliers upon request
Report all anomalies and variances to Admin / Finance Manager for resolution
Finalize creditors processing before for month end VAT report

Educational requirements

Matric (Gr 12)
Bookkeeping or similar financial qualification would be advantageous (or working towards a financial
Qualification). But not a pre-requisite
1 – 3 years’ experience in a similar position and environment.

Job Requirements

Computer literate (Microsoft Office) & knowledge of Sage Pastel or any other accounting package is essential
Good planning, organisation skills & attention to detail
Good English communication skills (written & verbal)
Ability to stay calm under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Time management skills
