We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Creditors Clerk to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate processing of supplier invoices, timely reconciliations, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers while supporting the Finance Department in achieving its operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare payment requisitions and payment schedules.
- Capture supplier invoices and credit notes accurately on a daily basis.
- Review supplier invoices to ensure compliance with VAT legislation and company policies.
- Record and reconcile petty cash transactions, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and maintain a clean accounts payable ageing.
- Maintain methodical and accurate filing of all processed invoices and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly accrual schedules.
- Liaise professionally with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve account queries.
- Assist with the preparation of documentation required for internal and external financial audits.
- Provide support on ad-hoc projects and other requests within the Finance Department.
- Ensure all accounts payable activities are completed within required deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Sound understanding of the Accounts Payable function.
- Experience using Pastel, including the processing of supplier invoices and credit notes.
- Previous experience in a similar creditors/accounts payable role will be advantageous.
