Full Job Description

The CARtime network of car service and repair services has 38 branches nationwide. From time, our branches require qualified technicians or repair shop assistants, to fulfil the following requirements:

Duties

- Servicing of light motor vehicles, LDV’s and 4X4s and light commercial vehicles

- General mechanical repairs

- Inspecting and reporting in writing ALL vehicle faults and defects found

- Test driving motor vehicles only if authorised to do so.

- Following instructions from the manager

- Be responsible for tools and equipment (both your own and the workshop’s)

- Put all tools on their place when you have finished using them.

- Jacking up vehicles with the safety measures in place

- Fitting trestles safely

- Operating the hoist

- Using hydraulic and power tools with care and safety

- Cleaning the workshop before leaving

- Executing all work in a safe manner

Other

- Abide by the Disciplinary Code

- Wear safety goggles and masks when necessary

- Arrive and leave the workshop at the prescribed time.

- Report to the manager before leaving.

- Do not communicate with the customers especially regarding their vehicles.

- Wear a clean overall everyday – no torn overalls.

- Wear safety shoes everyday

- Never take tools or equipment away from the workshop

- Ensure that you do not put grease anywhere on the clients’ vehicles.

Working hours

- Monday to Friday: 08h00 to 17:00

- Saturdays: 08h00 to 13h00
