We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Workshop Manager to lead our fast-paced, high-pressure heavy-duty truck mechanical workshop.
This is a demanding role that requires a strong leader who can manage a busy workshop, motivate a team, and ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of a busy truck workshop.
- Supervise and lead mechanics, apprentices, and workshop staff.
- Plan and allocate work to ensure deadlines are met.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and productivity.
- Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and complete paper trails.
- Manage workshop administration, documentation, and reporting.
- Monitor parts, stock control, and ordering.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and management.
- Resolve technical and staff-related issues quickly and effectively.
Minimum Requirements
- Proven experience managing a heavy-duty truck mechanical workshop.
- Strong knowledge of truck maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Excellent leadership and staff management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong administrative skills with exceptional attention to paperwork and record keeping.
- Computer literate with experience using workshop management systems.
- Valid driver's licence (Code EC/Code 14 will be an advantage).
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Reliable, disciplined, and able to make decisions independently.
