Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life Retirement Villages, operates across six premier retirement villages in the Western Cape, providing exceptional dining experiences to village residents and patients in our onsite healthcare centres.
We are looking for a friendly, professional and service-driven Part-Time Bartender / Waiter to join our team at Onrus Manor in Hermanus.
This is a permanent part-time position offering approximately 12 rostered shifts per month, making it ideal for someone looking for flexible working hours while delivering exceptional customer service in a high-quality hospitality environment.
Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Hermanus area.

Change table linen as required and ensure dirty or damaged linen is exchanged for clean, usable items.

Clean and refill cruet and condiment sets.

Set tables according to company standards, ensuring all items are clean, undamaged and presented to a high standard.

Maintain designated dining and bar areas in accordance with required hygiene standards.

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Provide professional wine service to residents and guests.

Serve food and beverages efficiently, professionally and courteously.

Develop a thorough knowledge of the menu to confidently recommend and explain menu items.

Deliver exceptional customer service while accommodating resident requests.

Handle customer queries and complaints professionally and escalate concerns to the Manager where necessary.

Assist with daily, weekly and monthly stock counts, reporting shortages, variances and breakages.

Restock and replenish bar supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.

Ensure accurate billing of orders and report any discrepancies to the Manager.

Maintain excellent personal hygiene and professional grooming standards.

Assist with private functions and special events outside of normal working hours when required.

Previous experience as both a Waiter and Bartender is essential.

Barista experience will be advantageous.

Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine service.

Previous experience within a restaurant, hotel, retirement village or hospitality environment will be advantageous.
