About Schlorf:
Schlorf is a custom premium design and manufacturing studio specialising in bespoke, architectural furniture, and lifestyle pieces. We collaborate with architects, and interior designers to create refined pieces that balance craftsmanship, engineering, and timeless design.
We are entering a focused growth phase where we are hoping to soon introduce our own ranges, and are looking to appoint an Interior Designer with strong commercial instinct to help drive business development, client relationships, and sales, while remaining deeply connected to design intent and quality.
The Role:
This is a hybrid role combining design leadership, client engagement, and commercial development.
You will act as a key design ambassador for Schlorf, working closely with:
- Architects and interior designers
- End clients and developers
- Internal production and engineering teams
Your primary objective is to grow the Schlorf brand, drive revenue, and convert design conversations into successful projects, while maintaining design integrity and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Client Engagement
- Lead design conversations with clients, architects, and interior designers
- Translate client briefs into clear design direction aligned with Schlorf’s identity
- Contribute to concept development, material selection, and spatial thinking
- Represent Schlorf at client meetings, presentations, and design discussions
Business Development & Sales
- Actively build and maintain relationships within the design and architectural community
- Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into projects
- Support quoting, project scoping, and proposal development
- Drive sales across bespoke projects, collections, and collaborative works
Brand & Market Positioning
- Help position Schlorf as a premium, design-led manufacturer
- Work with management to refine product offerings, collections, and market approach
- Support showroom, sample, and presentation strategies
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with production and technical teams to ensure design feasibility
- Assist in managing timelines, expectations, and design approvals
- Ensure a smooth transition from concept to manufacturing
Requirements:
- Qualification in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- 3–7+ years’ experience in interior design, architectural design, or high-end furniture
- Strong understanding of materials, finishes, and construction principles
- Proven ability to engage clients and present design ideas confidently
- Commercial mindset with an interest in sales and business growth
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
