We are seeking an experienced Fleet Controller / Operations Controller to coordinate daily transport operations, monitor fleet activities, support drivers, and ensure the efficient utilisation of company vehicles and resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

Fleet Monitoring & Control

Monitor vehicle locations using GPS and tracking systems.
Track vehicle and driver movements.
Monitor vehicle utilisation and operational performance.
Monitor multiple sites and operational projects.
Monitor driver attendance and daily activities.

Driver & Client Coordination

Liaise with drivers, clients, operations personnel, and management.
Handle driver and client queries professionally.
Communicate operational changes and updates to drivers.
Ensure effective shift and route coordination.

Incident & Emergency Management

Capture and report breakdowns, incidents, accidents, and operational concerns.
Coordinate roadside assistance when required.
Respond to emergency situations and operational disruptions.
Escalate incidents and safety concerns to management.
Remain vigilant to safety and security risks during shifts.

Vehicle & Asset Management

Monitor vehicle inspections and operational readiness.
Monitor vehicle permits, licences, and key control processes.
Ensure vehicles are serviced and maintained according to operational requirements.
Report vehicle defects and maintenance concerns.

Reporting & Administration

Compile and submit daily operational reports.
Maintain accurate operational records.
Assist with fleet-related administration and communication.

Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times

Minimum Requirements

Minimum 2 years' experience in a fleet control room or transport operations environment.
Experience using vehicle tracking and GPS monitoring systems.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
PSIRA registration will be advantageous.
Must maintain good personal hygiene and professional conduct.
Must reside within or near Goodwood, Ruyterwacht, Parow, Elsies River, or surrounding areas.
