Full Job Description

ELECTRICIAN

(BUFFELJAGS FARM, WESTERN CAPE)

Aqunion Group, the largest aquaculture company in South Africa is a subsidiary of the JSE listed Sea Harvest Group, that farms, processes, markets and sells South African Abalone to the South-East Asian market. The business currently comprises two tank-ashore farms, a processing facility, feed manufacturing company, and sea-based ranching operations, operating across the Overberg Region and Northern Cape, respectively.

We invite applications for the position of Electrician, currently available within the Aqunion Group. The position will be based in the Overberg Region (Buffeljags Area).

The primary purpose of the position:

To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems and equipment across the farm through preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Electrician will support uninterrupted production by maintaining electrical infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Performance Areas:

· Perform electrical repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and infrastructure.

· Assist with planning, procurement, and implementation of new electrical projects.

· Monitor and maintain electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.

· Manage electrical stock and ensure availability of critical spare parts.

· Assist with security system monitoring and maintenance.

· Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards.

· Supervise and support team members where required.

· Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, SANS standards, company procedures, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Minimum Requirements & Competencies:

· Qualified Electrician with relevant trade qualifications.

· 1–3 years' relevant electrical experience.

· Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

· Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.

· Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Computer literacy.

· Valid driver's licence.

· Physically fit and able to work outdoors.

· Willingness to work standby duties, after-hours, and weekends when required.

· Contactable references.
