Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandise Procurement and Planner to join our team in George, Western Cape. This entry-level role offers significant growth opportunities in a unique and expanding market. The ideal candidate will assist in the procurement of high-quality leather goods, support inventory planning, and contribute to the efficient operation of our merchandise department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of luxury leather goods from local and international suppliers.
- Support the planning and forecasting of inventory needs based on sales trends and seasonal demand.
- Collaborate with the merchandise team to ensure optimal stock levels and product availability.
- Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory movements.
- Assist in coordinating with suppliers, negotiating terms, and resolving any procurement-related issues.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
- During peak retail periods (e.g., December) and training phases, provide on-site support at our George Garden Route Mall store.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics and/or Accountancy as major subjects.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level).
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- A passion for retail, luxury goods, and customer satisfaction.

Working Hours & Conditions
- Office Hours: 08h30 – 16h30, Monday to Friday.
- Standard leave and off days apply as per company policy.
- Occasional Retail Support: During training and peak trading periods (e.g., December), assistance at the George Garden Route Mall store may be required.
Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: Negotiable between R15 000 – R18 000 per month (commensurate with experience and qualifications).
- Annual Performance Bonus: Paid in December.
