Full Job Description

An opportunity exists for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team of industrial engineers to support Supply Chain related projects in the PEP Business Solutions team. This is a fast-paced, action-packed role that will directly contribute to our Supply Chain success.

This position is based at our Central Office in Parow, reporting to the Industrial Engineering Team Lead.

THE ROLE

You will be exposed to various aspects of our Supply Chain, including Shipping, DCs, Transport and Stores. Through this, you will have the opportunity to diagnose problems, identify solutions, propose improvements and execute action plans. The role will have a focus on DC operations, systems and facility infrastructure.

This is a perfect role for somebody who will enjoy being immersed in operations and solve problems that will have a direct and measurable impact on the cost of doing business. You will work closely with other team members who will provide guidance and support where needed to ensure you successfully deliver on projects.

WHAT’S NEEDED

A candidate with a passion for Supply Chain and a drive to improve processes, systems, and building of Supply Chain capacity for growth. A self-starter that takes ownership of their work and is ready to make an impact in the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Development of business cases
Leading supply chain projects
Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Mapping and development of supply chain processes
Provide systems support and training
Develop business processes to enable optimal business and system integration
Liaise with various role players and departments to provide supply chain support

Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering or similar
Big picture thinking
Healthy appetite for keeping up to date with the latest technology trends in Supply Chain and DC environments
5 to 8 years post qualification experience as an Industrial Engineer, preferably in the broader warehouse or Supply Chain environment
Project Management experience will be an advantage
Retail knowledge and exposure will be an advantage
Experience in data analysis and using AI tools to build simulation and network optimisation models will be advantages
Advanced level of computer skills, especially MS Excel or Google Sheets
Willingness to travel
