Retail Sales Representative

Sales and Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times.
- Welcome customers and assist them with product selections.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Achieve individual and store sales targets.
- Promote products, special offers, promotions, and new product launches.
- Upsell and cross-sell products to maximise sales opportunities.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, exchanges, and product returns professionally and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge to provide accurate advice and recommendations.
- Actively identify customer needs and recommend suitable products.
- Contribute towards creating a positive and professional shopping experience.
Stock Control
- Assist with receiving, checking, and unpacking incoming stock.
- Verify that stock received corresponds with the relevant delivery documentation.
- Assist with stock counts and scheduled stock takes.
- Identify and report stock discrepancies, damaged stock, or incorrect deliveries.
- Ensure products are correctly priced and labelled.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to management.
- Assist with the movement and organisation of stock between the sales floor and storage areas.
- Take reasonable care to prevent stock losses, damage, and shrinkage.
Merchandising and Store Presentation
- Ensure the store remains clean, organised, and visually appealing.
- Replenish shelves and display areas timeously.
- Merchandise products according to company standards and promotional requirements.
- Ensure that displays are neat, correctly priced, and adequately stocked.
- Assist with promotional displays, seasonal changes, and new product launches.
- Maintain clean and orderly fitting rooms, counters, shelves, and customer areas.
- Report maintenance, safety, or housekeeping concerns to management.
Store Operations
- Assist with the opening and closing of the store where required.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Follow all health and safety requirements.
- Comply with security, loss-prevention, and cash-handling procedures.
- Support the Retail Floor Manager and other team members with operational requirements.
- Participate in team meetings, product training, and store activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure effective customer service and store performance.
Financial and Cash Handling
- Process cash, card, and electronic payments accurately.
- Issue receipts and process approved exchanges or refunds.
- Balance cash drawers where required.
- Ensure that all sales transactions are accurately recorded.
- Safeguard cash, payment devices, and company property.
- Report cash or transaction discrepancies immediately.
- Comply with all cash-handling and Point of Sale procedures.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12/Matric, with clear credit and criminal record
- 3 years proven experience in a customer facing role within a retail apparel store.
- Strong visual sensibility with an eye for style and trends.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work well in a team environment.
- Passion for retail and delivering premium customer shopping experience.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Proficient in English and Afrikaans
- Must be able to work weekends and public holidays when required.
