Full Job Description

The Project Security Manager is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, coordination, supervision and monitoring of security operations for the project. The position ensures the protection of personnel, infrastructure, equipment, materials and project assets against theft, vandalism, unauthorised access, trespassing, sabotage and other security-related risks.

The Security Manager will develop and implement an effective Project Security Plan and ensure that all security activities comply with contractual requirements, FIDIC requirements, applicable South African legislation, PSIRA regulations, Occupational Health and Safety requirements, Employer specifications and relevant SANS standards.

Key Responsibilities.

Develop, implement and continuously review the Project Security Plan.
Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments for project facilities and work areas.
Plan and manage security operations at pumping stations, reservoirs, repeaters, off-takes, construction sites and other critical project facilities.
Oversee the installation, commissioning and operation of CCTV surveillance systems.
Manage biometric access-control systems, including multispectral fingerprint scanners where applicable.
Manage perimeter security systems, including non-lethal electric fencing, gates, barriers and other access-control measures.
Ensure the effective operation of UPS systems, lightning and surge protection and fibre communication infrastructure supporting security systems.
Ensure all access points are properly controlled and monitored.
Establish procedures for the control and registration of employees, visitors, contractors and vehicles.
Monitor the movement of personnel, contractors, visitors and vehicles entering and leaving project facilities.
Manage and supervise security service providers and ensure that all deployed security personnel comply with PSIRA requirements.
Develop and implement security post orders and site-specific security procedures.
Ensure the prohibition of unauthorised firearms, weapons, alcohol and drugs on project premises.
Conduct regular security inspections and identify security weaknesses requiring corrective action.

Pay: From R70 000,00 per month
