An established Alberton-based law firm is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to support its collections litigation and vehicle asset finance recovery department.

This is a high-volume litigation role suited to someone who understands court process, debt recovery, enforcement proceedings and the administration required to keep matters moving from instruction through to finalisation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage vehicle asset finance collections files from inception to finalisation.
Draft summonses, default judgments, warrants and related litigation documents.
Prepare, format, serve and file legal correspondence and court documents.
Liaise with clients, debtors, sheriffs, correspondent attorneys and court officials.
Monitor court dates, deadlines, returns of service and outstanding actions.
Assist with repossession, execution and recovery processes.
Maintain accurate electronic and physical files.
Update legal case-management systems.
Prepare progress reports and collections-related correspondence.
Follow up consistently on outstanding matters.

Minimum Requirements

5–10 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary within collections litigation.
Direct experience in vehicle asset finance recoveries is essential.
Strong knowledge of Magistrates’ Court and High Court procedures.
Experience drafting summonses, judgments, warrants and execution documents.
Strong Microsoft Office and legal system skills.
Excellent written communication and document accuracy.
Able to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
Reliable transport and the ability to work from the Alberton office.

Experience working on banking or financial-institution portfolios will be advantageous.

Pay: R15 000,00 - R25 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Alberton, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
