Position Overview:
The Branch Manager is responsible for sustainably growing sales and profit. The role leads a team and manage all aspects of the branch such as sales, buying, stock control, service, operations, administration, and financial management. This role requires a dynamic leader with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-centric approach. The role maintains a high performing dynamic team culture and ensure exceptional customer service and efficient operations. The role demonstrates resilience, energy, and a proactive mindset to thrive in fast-paced environments. The position makes part of the Divisions Steering Committee that drives group strategy and enhancements and offers opportunities for professional development and making a significant impact within Conways Aluminium and its people.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to sustainably grow sales and profit by expanding sales volume, the customer base and market share across various market segments in the region.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them, including identifying and targeting specific industries or geographical areas for growth.
- Oversee all aspects of the stockist business, including but not limited to stock replenishment, sales, internal and external customer service, operations, administration, pricing tactics, margin management, and financial management.
- Develop, implement or maintain procedures to ensure efficient and effective business operations and controls.
- Champion a culture of excellence in customer service and ensure that customer satisfaction is prioritized and maintained at all times.
- Implement customer feedback mechanisms and use insights to continuously improve service delivery.
- Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team through effective recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.
- Develop, manage and report on the branch budget in collaboration with Conways support, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and take corrective actions as needed.
- Report on business performance as required and prepare regular operational reports and forecasts for review.
- In collaboration with the demand planning department, manage stock levels, buying, and inventory control to ensure adequate stock availability, minimized stockouts and dead stock, and prevent stock losses.
- Implement efficient supply chain practices to streamline operations, increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement effective risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and regulatory risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and cleanliness in the branch premises to uphold a professional image.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, support departments, industry partners, and where relevant, regulatory authorities.
- Act as a key representative of the branch within the organization and in external forums.
- Collaborate with senior management and contribute to strategic decision-making processes at the organizational level.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- 5 Years management experience with a track record of managing successful branches.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- A good understanding of the Southern African Aluminium market dynamics and Wispeco’s fenestration systems.
- Understanding the factors that affect profitability of a B2B warehouse business that stock, manage margin, sell and distribute goods to fabrication businesses and end-consumers.
Pay: R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
