KAPICO SA is seeking experienced, reliable, and highly motivated Professional Drivers for our Midrand and Johannesburg operations. These positions begin on a temporary contract with a definite view to transitioning into a permanent role based on performance, attendance, and reliability.
The successful candidates will ensure the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of automotive products and parts to our clients across the regional distribution networks, navigating local routes efficiently while upholding the professional image of the company.
Key Responsibilities1. Delivery Operations & Route Optimization
- Safe Transport: Securely transport automotive goods and parts to designated wholesale, retail, and commercial clients.
- Navigation: Plan efficient delivery routes utilizing GPS and local knowledge of Midrand/Johannesburg traffic patterns to guarantee on-time drop-offs.
- Maintain tight delivery windows and manage time effectively throughout the day.
2. Cargo Integrity & Documentation
- Assist with loading and unloading inventory, ensuring all cargo is securely packed and protected against transit damage or theft.
- Verify physical stock against delivery notes before departure.
- Ensure clients sign invoices and Proof of Delivery (POD) documents correctly, and return all completed paperwork to dispatch daily.
3. Vehicle Care & Safety Compliance
- Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks (fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, lights).
- Immediately report any mechanical faults, defects, or service requirements to the supervisor.
- Keep the assigned company vehicle clean, presentable, and roadworthy at all times.
4. Customer Service Excellence
- Act as a professional ambassador for KAPICO SA on the road and at customer delivery sites.
- Handle basic customer queries or delivery discrepancies politely on-site, and escalate them to management immediately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Grade 12 (Matric) certificate preferred.
- Experience: 4+ years of accident-free professional driving and delivery experience (traceable references required).
- Background Check: Clear criminal record and valid South African ID.
- Geographical Knowledge: Intimate, confident knowledge of Midrand, central Johannesburg, and surrounding Gauteng highways.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle physical labor, including loading, unloading, and lifting heavy automotive stock items.
- Attributes: Punctual, reliable, sober habits, and highly disciplined regarding road safety protocols.
Pay: R6 000,00 - R6 500,00 per hour
