The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development, promotion, maintenance and sales of company services through direct client contacts within an assigned country or region.
They generate positive revenue growth within a defined geographic territory, focussing on identifying new clients and retaining and growing revenue with existing clients.

Essential Job Functions:
- Account for overall sales results within the country, coordinating and controlling strategic sales activities with high business impact.
- Develop and implement sales strategies in line with the country’s business objectives and group guidelines.
- Drive market growth, customer acquisition and retention at a national level.
- Lead and improve sales performance through process optimization and performance measurement.
- Support customer strategies and lead contract negotiations at the country level.
- Identify and validate improvement areas using sales pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness teams.
- Analyze market and technology trends to guide changes within the sales function.
- Ensure efficient resource utilization and continuous productivity improvement.
- Monitor operational KPIs, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Hold weekly review sessions with key stakeholders, providing updates and action plans.
- Support both Sea Freight and Air Freight product and sales divisions.
- Implement operational and strategic modifications that influence divisional performance and profitability.
- Maintain healthy trade and customer relationships at all times.

Education and Experience:
- Grade 12/Matric Certificate is required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 8 -10 or more years of logistics sales related experience required.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Professional certification may be required in some areas.
