The Role
Reporting to the Financial Director, you'll be responsible for the full accounting function across our SA entity and contribute to the consolidated group view. You'll own AP and AR cycles, run month-end close, prepare statutory submissions, manage our fixed-asset register, reconcile our FNB bank accounts, and support the external audit. Day-to-day, you'll work in our in-house Hadron ERP — so comfort with modern web-based accounting software (we used to run Sage Evolution) is essential.
This isn't a back-office data-capture role. You'll be a hands-on professional helping us close the month tightly, file accurate returns to SARS on time every time, and produce management accounts that the directors actually use to make decisions.

- Maintain the Chart of Accounts; post manual journal entries with proper supporting documentation

- Three-way match (PO ↔ GRN ↔ Vendor bill) and resolve variances with the buying team
- Capture and apportion landed costs (freight, customs duty, clearing, SARS Customs VAT) on imported stock
Monthly close
- Run the month-end close pack: provisions, accruals, deferred income, FX revaluation, depreciation
- Prepare and post the monthly depreciation run; maintain the fixed asset register end-to-end (acquisitions, disposals, additions to FA via vendor bill)
- Reconcile inventory sub-ledger (FIFO costing) to GL
- Produce management accounts — P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, AR/AP aging — within 5 working days of month-end
- Maintain the 13-week cashflow forecast and flag funding risks early
- Reconcile inter-company balances across HG SA, Hadron Technical and HG Zimbabwe
