Introduction
Well-established manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting and financial functions while supporting the business with accurate reporting and financial control.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Managing the cash book for multiple entities
- Daily loading of cash payments on the Standard Bank website
- Daily management of cash balances to ensure availability of funds
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Processing local and foreign payments
- Managing petty cash
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Processing journals
- Assisting with cash flow management
- Costing of foreign creditors
- Handling foreign creditor queries
- Managing intercompany debtors
- Processing credit notes
- Credit card reallocations
- Freight reconciliations and payments
- Financial analysis and reporting
- Preparing PowerPoint presentations for reporting purposes
- Maintaining the fixed assets register
- Assisting with ad-hoc finance tasks and projects as required
Desired Experience & Qualification
- National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Degree in Accounting or Finance will be advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years’ accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
- Experience with foreign payments and creditors advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
