Full Job Description

We are looking to employ an Inventory & Dispatch Controller to manage, control, and ensure the accuracy of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods stock, including full control of dispatch and the structured transfer of raw materials to manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate stock records
Perform cycle counts and stock takes
Resolve discrepancies
Verify incoming goods against purchase orders
Capture GRNs accurately
Manage storage and binning of raw materials
Control and manage the transfer of raw materials from stores to production
Ensure all material issues are supported by authorized documentation (e.g. material requisitions / issue notes)
Reconcile issued materials against production requirements
Accurately capture all stock movements in the system
Maintain full traceability of materials issued to manufacturing
Manage finished goods stock and movements from production
Control all stock leaving facility
Verify quantities, specifications, and documentation
Ensure system accuracy of dispatch
Perform dispatch reconciliations
Prevent unauthorized stock movement

Key Performance Indicators:

Stock Accuracy ≥ 98%
Finished Goods Accuracy ≥ 99%
Dispatch Accuracy ≥ 99.5%
Raw Material Issue Accuracy ≥ 99%
Documentation Accuracy 100%
Variance resolution within 48 hours
100% traceability of material issued to production
100% compliance with storage regulations and housekeeping standards
Zero uncaptured or 'open' GRNs/Transfers at the end of each shift.

Skills and Competencies:

Meticulous Attention to Detail: Vital for achieving the 99.5% dispatch accuracy and 100% documentation targets.
High Integrity & Honesty: Essential for managing raw material inventory and preventing shrinkage or unauthorized movements.
Analytical Thinking: The ability to trace the root cause of stock variances and resolve them within the 48-hour window.
Reliability & Resilience: Maintaining focus and accuracy in a high-pressure manufacturing environment with tight deadlines.
Effective Communication: Clearly liaising between the production floor and the administration office regarding stock requirements and discrepancies.
ERP/WMS Literacy: Proficiency in using systems such as Syspro, SAP, or Sage for capturing GRNs, transfers, and issues.
Inventory Governance: Advanced knowledge of FIFO/LIFO methodologies, cycle counting, and "Wall-to-Wall" stock-take procedures.
Documentation Control: Mastery of Goods Received Notes (GRNs), Proof of Delivery (POD) reconciliation, and Material Requisitions.
Numerical Literacy: Ability to perform rapid, accurate calculations for reconciliations and variance analysis.
OHS Compliance: Understanding of safe stacking, racking, and warehouse safety protocols according to the OHS Act

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric): With a solid pass in Mathematics or Accountancy.
Relevant Tertiary Education: A Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Warehouse Management, or Supply Chain Management (NQF Level 5 or 6).
Valid Forklift License: Would be advantageous.
Manufacturing Background: 3 to 5 years of experience specifically in a manufacturing or industrial warehouse environment.
Stock Ownership: Proven track record of managing raw material issues to production lines with high traceability standards.
System Ownership: Prior experience being solely responsible for the accuracy of a digital inventory system.

Position Specifics:

Working Hours: 45 Hours a Week - Based on shift roster
Willing to work night shift
Basic Remuneration: Market Related
Own reliable transport

Pay: R1,00 per month
