Purpose of the Role
RLabs is seeking a practical, community-focused, and well-organised Training Coordinator / Training Officer to support the successful delivery of training, onboarding, and readiness activities within the ReCha Programme. The role will support ReCha entrepreneurs through training coordination, facilitation, assessment support, workplace learning, and ongoing readiness activities so that participants are properly prepared to take part in the programme.
Key Responsibility Areas
Entrepreneur Recruitment & Selection Support
- Support the recruitment and selection process for ReCha entrepreneurs where required.
- Assist with participant readiness checks, communication, and onboarding preparation.
- Work with the Project Manager and Field Officers to identify training and support needs.
Curriculum Design & Training Material Support
- Support the development and updating of training content, worksheets, guides, and practical learning material.
- Ensure training content is simple, practical, and appropriate for community-based entrepreneurs.
- Align training content to programme objectives, recycling operations, and ReCha support requirements.
Training Planning & Coordination
- Prepare training schedules, venues, attendance lists, and logistics for training sessions.
- Coordinate with Field Officers, hub teams, schools, and community stakeholders where training activities are planned.
- Ensure training activities are communicated clearly to participants and relevant team members.
Training Delivery & Oversight
- Facilitate or support training sessions for ReChas, community participants, and programme stakeholders.
- Ensure participants understand programme expectations, recycling practices, safety basics, and operational requirements.
- Monitor participation and identify individuals requiring additional support.
Workplace Learning & Practical Support
- Support practical learning activities linked to recycling, collection, sorting, material handling, and basic
- enterprise readiness.
- Provide follow-up support after training to encourage application of learning in the field.
- Assist with practical demonstrations and site-based learning where required.
Assessment, Verification & Readiness
- Support basic assessments and verification activities linked to training completion and ReCha readiness.
- Maintain records of attendance, completion, and participant progress.
- Identify gaps in readiness and recommend follow-up support actions.
Reporting & Evidence Management
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance registers, photos, and supporting evidence.

- Prepare training updates for monthly and quarterly programme reporting.
- Ensure training documentation is organised and available for programme monitoring and progress updates.
Collaboration with Programme Team
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Field Officers, Hub Coordinator, and relevant programme partners.
- Support school and community awareness activities where required.
- Escalate risks, delays, or participant concerns promptly through the agreed reporting channels.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
- A qualification in education, training, facilitation, community development, skills development, entrepreneurship support, or a related field will be advantageous.
Experience
- Experience in training, facilitation, coaching, community development, or small enterprise support.
- Experience working with communities, entrepreneurs, schools, or youth development programmes will be advantageous.
- Experience in recycling, waste management, or circular economy initiatives will be beneficial.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Good planning, coordination, and administration skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and training evidence.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple activities across different sites.

Working Conditions & Special Requirements
- Based at RLabs / programme offices with regular travel to ReCha sites, hubs, schools, and community locations.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility required during training, onboarding, and community events.
- A valid South African driver’s licence will be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel within the Western Cape as required by programme activities.
