About Podhaus
Podhaus designs and manufactures premium prefabricated pods, cabins, tiny homes and modular buildings using Light Steel Frame (LSF) construction. Unlike a traditional architectural firm, we don't just draw buildings—we design products that are manufactured in our own factory and installed throughout Southern Africa.
We're looking for a creative, technically minded designer who enjoys solving real-world construction challenges and wants to see their designs come to life.

What You'll Be Doing
- Design modular pods, cabins, tiny homes and prefabricated buildings.
- Produce detailed manufacturing, construction and working drawings.
- Create and develop LSF framing designs.
- Build accurate 3D CAD models from concept through production.
- Develop construction details and practical design solutions.
- Prepare drawings for client approvals and municipal submissions where required.
- Coordinate drawing revisions throughout projects.
- Work closely with the factory team to ensure designs are practical, efficient and buildable.
- Liaise with engineers, suppliers and consultants when required.
- Assist with promotional material, product brochures, renders and visual presentations.
- Contribute to the development of new Podhaus products and improve existing designs.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering Design or a related field.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Archicad or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of construction detailing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projectas simultaneously.
- Passion for modern design and practical construction.
Bonus Skills
Experience with any of the following is advantageous:
- Light Steel Frame (LSF) construction.
- Modular or prefabricated buildings.
- Construction documentation.
- Twinmotion, Lumion or Enscape.
- Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign.
- Rendering software.
- BIM workflows.
- Manufacturing or fabrication environments.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career (typically 0–5 years' experience) who wants to grow quickly and take ownership of meaningful projects.
You don't need to be a registered architect. What matters most is that you're technically capable, eager to learn, enjoy designing things that get built, and have a genuine interest in construction and product development.
