Work Hours
The position will be based at SANCCOB’s Table View facility. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 08h00 to 17h00. However, given the nature of the role and the need to attend events, conservation activities, media engagements, and other organisational commitments, a degree of flexibility will be required. While working hours may vary from time to time, the expectation is that they will remain broadly equivalent to 8 hours per workday, and 40 hours per week.

As the Marketing and Media Coordinator, you will need a clear understanding of SANCCOB’s operations and its mission, vision and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for developing and implementing SANCCOB’s digital marketing and social media strategy, creating and distributing engaging multimedia content, and overseeing SANCCOB’s digital presence to maximise audience engagement and brand impact. This includes content creation, campaign implementation, community engagement, brand management, performance monitoring, and ensuring that all communications align with SANCCOB’s mission, strategic objectives, and corporate identity. This position is a junior to intermediate level role.
Digital Marketing and Social Media:
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine SANCCOB’s digital marketing and social media strategy in alignment with the organisation’s mission, strategic objectives, corporate identity, and brand guidelines.
- Be responsible for SANCCOB’s presence across all digital and social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and audience engagement.
- Plan and execute integrated digital campaigns that support conservation awareness, fundraising, advocacy, education, and organisational objectives.
- Monitor platform performance and audience analytics, using insights to optimise content, campaigns, and engagement.
Content Creation and Multimedia:
- Develop, create, and distribute compelling multimedia content across SANCCOB’s digital platforms, including copywriting, photography, videography, graphic design, and video editing.
- Film and edit high-quality content for social media, YouTube, website content, fundraising campaigns, and organisational storytelling.
- Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure a consistent and engaging digital presence.
- Ensure all content reflects SANCCOB’s corporate identity, brand standards, and key organisational messaging.
Brand Management and Third-Party Communications:
- Act as a custodian of SANCCOB’s brand by ensuring all communications and marketing materials are aligned with approved brand guidelines.
- Provide oversight of third-party media content, partner communications, and externally produced materials to ensure SANCCOB is accurately and consistently represented.
- Work closely with partners, sponsors, ambassadors, and media organisations to maintain a professional and cohesive brand image.
Community Engagement:
- Manage and grow SANCCOB’s online community by fostering meaningful engagement with supporters, donors, volunteers, partners, and the public.
- Respond to comments, messages, and enquiries in a timely, professional, and engaging manner.
- Build strong online relationships that strengthen awareness, advocacy, fundraising, and supporter retention.
Media Coordination:
- Coordinate and supervise onsite and offsite media visits, photography, and filming activities.
- Ensure all media activities comply with SANCCOB’s media protocols, animal welfare requirements, biosecurity procedures, and organisational policies.
- Liaise with media representatives and facilitate access to staff, facilities, and conservation activities where appropriate.
Stakeholder, Ambassador and Influencer Engagement:
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with ambassadors, influencers, content creators, and strategic stakeholders whose values align with SANCCOB’s mission.
- Develop collaborative opportunities that increase public awareness, strengthen advocacy efforts, support fundraising initiatives, and expand SANCCOB’s reach.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with digital content creators and conservation advocates to amplify SANCCOB’s conservation messaging.
- Ability to produce clear, engaging, and accurate copy tailored to a range of audiences and platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, media releases, and marketing materials.
- Demonstrated experience managing digital and social media platforms, with a sound understanding of current trends, audience engagement, and digital marketing best practice.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) to produce high-quality digital and print marketing materials.
- Experience capturing and editing high-quality photographs and videos for use across digital platforms, including social media, YouTube, fundraising campaigns, and organisational storytelling.
- Working knowledge of SEO principles and experience using analytics tools to monitor digital performance, evaluate campaign effectiveness, and inform future content and marketing decisions.
- An interest in emerging digital platforms, evolving social media trends, and new technologies, with the ability to identify opportunities that strengthen SANCCOB’s digital presence and audience engagement.
