FMCG SALES REPRESENTATIVE (ALCOHOL & BEVERAGE INDUSTRY)
Location: Benoni, Gauteng (Travel throughout Gauteng and surrounding areas)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and results-driven FMCG Sales Representative with proven experience in the alcohol, beverage, or FMCG sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing sales, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong customer relationships within the liquor, hospitality, and retail markets.
This position is ideal for a sales professional who has established relationships within the liquor trade and a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within taverns, pubs, bars, restaurants, liquor stores, bottle stores, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales and revenue targets.
- Increase market penetration and product distribution within assigned territories.
- Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong client relationships.
- Present products, promotions, and sales initiatives to customers.
Account Management
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Ensure excellent customer service and prompt resolution of customer concerns.
- Monitor customer sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and product placements within company guidelines.
Market Development
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Identify opportunities to increase brand visibility and market share.
- Assist with product launches, promotional campaigns, and customer events.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to management.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales reports.
- Submit weekly sales and activity reports.
- Assist with sales forecasting and demand planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum 3–5 years' external sales experience within the alcohol, beer, beverage, or FMCG industry.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience selling to liquor stores, taverns, pubs, restaurants, wholesalers, and distributors.
- Existing relationships within the liquor trade will be highly advantageous.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
