CyberSentriq is a high-growth, private equity-backed cyber security SaaS business approaching ~$100M ARR, operating at pace within the IT channel.
We are now hiring for a Financial Controller on a 6 month fixed term contract where you will play a pivotal role in building a finance function that inspires investor confidence, enables smarter customer-led decision-making, and scales seamlessly with the business. This is not a traditional reporting role - you will combine financial rigour with AI-driven insight and automation to deliver accurate, forward-looking intelligence that supports growth, strengthens control, and ensures the business remains resilient, compliant, and commercially focused as it scales.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
-
Own the preparation and presentation of accurate, timely financial reports to senior management and PE stakeholders.
-
Deliver financial analysis that leads to decisions, not just numbers - connecting reporting to operational and strategic choices.
-
Use automation to streamline reporting processes and improve data accuracy, reducing manual reconciliation.
Budgeting & Forecasting
-
Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles with department heads, embedding PE-sponsor considerations into financial planning.
-
Monitor performance against budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and clear recommendations.
Financial Controls & Compliance
-
Implement and maintain robust financial controls that satisfy internal policy and external regulation.
-
Manage audit processes and keep the business audit-ready for investor and regulatory review at all times, not just at year-end.
-
Maintain alignment with GAAP/IFRS standards and PE reporting requirements.
Cash Flow Management
-
Optimise cash flow to support growth initiatives while minimising financial risk.
-
Monitor liquidity and working capital, ensuring efficient use of resources in line with investor expectations.
Private Equity Investor Relations
-
Act as the primary financial liaison to PE investors, providing regular updates and insight, not just data.
-
Support due diligence processes and maintain transparency in all financial communications.
Team Leadership & Development
-
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, building a high-performance function that matches PE-standard expectations.
-
Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the finance function.
Your Story
-
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACMA, or equivalent); Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
-
Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a fast-growing SaaS or technology company with private equity backing.
-
Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and experience preparing investor-grade financial statements.
-
Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis with a private equity lens.
-
Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
-
Proficiency with financial software
You will embed AI across finance workflows:
-
Close & Reconciliation: Use AI tools to detect anomalies, reduce manual review, and accelerate month-end close
-
Variance Analysis: Generate AI-assisted first drafts of board-level commentary, refined for accuracy and insight
-
Forecasting & Scenario Modelling: Apply AI tools to simulate growth, churn, and cost scenarios with rapid iteration
-
Process Automation: Replace spreadsheet-heavy workflows with scalable, system-driven processes
All AI outputs must be validated, controlled, and audit-compliant.
