2. Main Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of the Financial Manager role is to oversee and manage the financial operations, accounting processes, reporting functions, and finance department responsibilities for Cosmetic Connection.
The role includes supervising finance staff, ensuring accurate financial processing, maintaining financial controls, supporting operational and strategic decision-making, overseeing reconciliations and reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting and audit requirements.
3. Key Responsibilities
Finance Team Management
- Managing and overseeing the daily responsibilities of the Finance Department.
- Supervising the Purchase Clerk responsible for supplier purchase processing.
- Supervising the Debtors Clerk responsible for sales processing and allocation of Speedpoint and cash deposits.
- Reviewing work processed by finance staff to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assisting staff with queries, problem-solving, and process improvements.
- Providing guidance and support to finance team members.
Accounting and Financial Processing
- Processing and reviewing company expenses including:
- Rent
- Security
- CIT
- Operational expenses
- Processing bank statements and ensuring accurate transaction allocations.
- Preparing and processing supplier payments and payment batches.
- Creating and managing purchase orders.
- Performing creditor reconciliations and resolving supplier queries.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Ensuring all financial transactions are processed correctly and timeously.
Retail and Stock Control Functions
- Performing daily checks between stock systems and accounting systems.
- Ensuring sales and purchases reconcile accurately.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies between systems.
- Monitoring stock-related transactions and reporting accuracy.
- Assisting with stock and retail financial controls.
Reporting and Management Accounts
- Drafting monthly management reports and financial summaries.
- Preparing financial reports and analysis for Directors and Management.
- Assisting management with financial interpretation and operational reporting.
- Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Audit and Compliance
- Liaising directly with external auditors.
- Providing requested information and supporting documentation for audits.
- Ensuring accounting records remain audit-ready.
- Assisting with compliance requirements and implementation of financial controls.
- Monitoring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
General Financial Management
- Assisting management with financial decision-making and operational support.
- Continuously improving financial controls and processes.
- Managing ad hoc accounting and finance responsibilities as required.
- Supporting business operations through accurate financial management and reporting.
4. Daily Duties
The Employee’s daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising and supporting the finance team.
- Reviewing financial transactions and reconciliations.
- Processing and reviewing operational expenses.
- Monitoring bank allocations and supplier payments.
- Reviewing sales, stock, and accounting system reconciliations.
- Assisting with financial queries and problem-solving.
- Monitoring financial controls and reporting accuracy.
5. Weekly / Monthly Duties
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Reviewing creditor reconciliations and supplier balances.
- Assisting with audit preparation and compliance checks.
- Monitoring financial processes and implementing improvements.
- Reviewing stock and accounting system reconciliations.
- Assisting management with financial planning and operational reporting.

7. Additional Responsibilities
- Assisting Directors and Management with financial and operational support.
- Supporting stores and departments with finance-related queries and assistance.
- Assisting with implementation of financial procedures and controls.
- Performing additional duties reasonably related to accounting, finance, and operational management requirements.
Pay: R20 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month
