Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking highly skilled P&ID Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
As the successful candidate, you will:

Be responsible for development and production P&ID drawings/ deliverables in Bentley’s Open Plant environment

Possess good experience on OpenPlant or SmartPlant software

Coordinate work with the lead engineer/ designer, including taking responsibility for timely completion of deliverables

Review check and be responsible for quality of drawings prepared by self and of others in the team, if required
-
Prioritize project or program discipline actions for the purpose of achieving deliverable quality and adherence to schedule

Ensure correctness of data on P&ID’s using data manager in Open Plant environment

Be solution oriented towards resolving all P&ID related issues and project lifecycle as required

Responsible for quantity assurance by adhering to HATCH’s procedures for maintaining check prints throughout the complete lifecycle of the drawings

Apply industry best practices, applicable procedures, PLP’s

Adhere to and promote the Hatch corporate safety culture
You bring to the role:
Essential
-
Diploma in Instrumentation/ Piping Engineering/ Mechanical or equivalent
-
Experience with SmartPlant P&ID’s/ OpenPlant P&ID’s
-
More than 5 years of similar experience on projects
-
Extensive experience in Bentley’s tools
-
Experience with multidisciplinary design coordination
-
Sound knowledge of workflows for Instrumentation systems

Understanding of other discipline requirements
-
Willingness to stretch, take ownership, quality conscious
-
Openness to do multitasking and good safety awareness

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
-
Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment

Good software skills & Strong quality focus
-
Experience in mentoring and supervising designers
-
Exposure to other software platforms viz. MicroStation, Blue Beam, AutoCAD etc
