Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure / Cloud / DevOps Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, securing, and maintaining cloud and on-premises infrastructure while driving DevOps best practices to support business-critical applications.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in:
Computer Science
Information Technology
Engineering
Or a related field
One or more of the following certifications:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer Expert
Or another relevant Cloud, Infrastructure, or DevOps certification
Minimum 7 years' experience in Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, and DevOps environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment.
Manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Monitor system performance, availability, and security.
Implement cloud governance, backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
Manage containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and cloud-related issues.
Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Technical Skills

AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud Platforms
DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM Templates, CloudFormation, Ansible)
Docker and Kubernetes
Linux and Windows Server Administration
Networking, DNS, VPNs, Load Balancing, Firewalls
Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor
Scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
Version control using Git
