Synthesis Software Technologies is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team and support the design, implementation, modernization, and operation of enterprise-scale Azure environments. This role is ideal for an experienced cloud professional who combines strong Azure infrastructure expertise with an understanding of modern application architectures, security, governance, and cloud operating models.
The successful candidate will work across cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, platform services, and modernization initiatives, partnering with infrastructure and software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, resilient, and well-governed Azure solutions. This role plays a key part in enabling cloud adoption, improving operational maturity, and supporting the successful migration and modernization of business-critical workloads.

Design, implement, and support Azure cloud environments aligned with Microsoft best practices.

Build and maintain Azure landing zones and enterprise cloud foundations.

Design and support Hub-and-Spoke network architectures.

Configure and manage Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Route Tables, DNS, VPNs, ExpressRoute, and Private Endpoints.

Support multi-subscription environments and workload segmentation strategies.

Implement cloud governance controls using Azure Policy, Management Groups, RBAC, Resource Locks, and tagging standards.

Ensure environments comply with security, governance, and operational requirements.

Support workload isolation and resource organization strategies across subscriptions and resource groups.

Implement and manage Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Identity & Access Management solutions.

Apply least-privilege access controls using RBAC and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Support identity federation and enterprise authentication mechanisms.

Implement secure networking and cloud security best practices.

Manage secrets, keys, and certificates through Azure Key Vault.

Assist with cloud security posture reviews, monitoring, and remediation activities.

5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
-
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
-
Proven experience designing and supporting Azure networking solutions.
-
Strong understanding of Azure governance, landing zones, IAM, and resource organization strategies.
-
Experience implementing and supporting Hub-and-Spoke network architectures.
-
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates.
-
Experience with CI/CD platforms including Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
-
Familiarity with containerization technologies and Kubernetes concepts.
-
Experience supporting secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments.
-
Strong troubleshooting, automation, and operational support capabilities.
-
Understanding of application hosting models and cloud modernization approaches.
-
Ability to work effectively with software engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Experience working within enterprise or highly regulated environments.
-
Exposure to financial services, banking, insurance, or similar industries.

Experience working in hybrid cloud environments.

Knowledge of AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.

Experience conducting Well-Architected Framework reviews.

Knowledge of resilience engineering, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.

Experience supporting large-scale migration and modernization programmes.

Exposure to observability, monitoring, and distributed systems concepts.

Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Relevant cloud engineering experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
