Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Supervisor to oversee our cleaning and garden service teams. The successful candidate will ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, supervise staff on-site, maintain health and safety compliance, and provide excellent customer service. A valid driver’s licence is essential, as the role requires travelling between client sites and transporting staff, equipment, and materials when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily cleaning and garden maintenance operations.
* Allocate duties and manage staff attendance and productivity.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
* Train and mentor new employees on cleaning procedures, garden maintenance, and health and safety requirements.
* Ensure all cleaning equipment, tools, vehicles, and gardening equipment are properly maintained and used safely.
* Monitor stock levels of cleaning chemicals, consumables, and gardening supplies, and report shortages.
* Complete daily reports, job cards, timesheets, and incident reports.
* Communicate effectively with clients and respond promptly to service requests or complaints.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
* Drive company vehicles to transport employees, equipment, and materials to various client sites.
* Assist with cleaning and gardening duties when operationally required.
Minimum Requirements
* Grade 12 (Matric).
* Minimum of 1–3 years’ supervisory experience in the cleaning and/or garden services industry.
* Valid South African Code B driver’s licence (essential).
* Good communication and leadership skills.
* Ability to manage teams and work under pressure.
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and garden maintenance practices.
* Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email) are advantageous.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
