PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To manage the working capital of the business, by planning sales and inflows and executing those plans through stock management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Planning and management of Working capital
- Highlight specific growth areas (new opportunities or product)
- Plan realistic markdowns, shrinkage and mark-ups
- Post-mortem historical performance and evaluate price matrix and product type ratios
- Realistic re-forecasting on plans
- Highlighting and managing late and early deliveries
- Ensuring OTB spent to approved target
- Management of stock allocations and distributions
2. Price adjustments & Markdowns
- Make proposals for slow selling products
- Coordinate in-season and end-of-season markdowns
3. Store performance review and analysis
- On-going review of store performance
- Provide feedback to Location Planning
- Effectively use profiles / grades to better distribute assortment of product to stores
- Departmental Performance reviews and analysis
- Formal monthly performance feedback; detailed analysis on results
- Weekly BU performance and analysis
4. Store visits and Competitor analysis
- Local competitors will be visited in order to enhance product knowledge and compare product offerings
- Problem issues in stores will be identified (e.g. sizes)
5. Country Support
- STP inbox queries are answered and country teams assisted
- Feedback and action plans to be provided following country visits
6. Ad hoc projects
- Participate in ad-hoc projects when required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- 3+ years Retail Planning experience
- Experience in Planning tools, i.e. EP (Advantageous)
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Knowledge of Replenishment processes
- Computer Literacy: Intermediate
- Willingness to travel to African countries (occasionally)
- South African citizen
