Full Job Description

We are looking for Cloud Accounting Software Automation & Systems Specialist to customise and automate business processes within SME / Accounting firm clients. The focus of this role is to improve how Cloud Accounting software e.g. Xero, Xer API’s is set up, connected, and automated with other business tools to reduce manual work and streamline operations.

This is a systems and automation role, not bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

Review existing client environments and analyze data flow between systems as part of a workflow analysis.

· Assist in the analysis of existing accounting processes to identify areas for automation and efficiency improvements.

Customise Cloud Accounting Software for SME businesses (setup, structure, organisation configuration)
Design, develop, and implement secure system integrations and connectivity to automate sales, inventory, billing, etc.
Conduct end-to-end testing, troubleshoot integration issues, and provide user training and documentation.
Support monthly close processes, bank reconciliations, and ensure accurate financial data transfers.
Automate workflows to improve financial and operational workflows and reduce manual data entry
Keeping abreast of technology trends and developments in the field of system integration

Requirements

Technical: Hands-on experience with Cloud Accounting Software, third-party APIs, and middleware solutions.
Accounting/Finance Knowledge: Strong understanding of bookkeeping, VAT, and operational accounting (often paired with BCom degrees or SAICA/CIMA articles).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to translate complex client business requirements into scalable, technical integration solutions.
Strong hands-on experience with Xero (advanced user)
Strong problem-solving and logical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Exposure to SME operations

Pay: R450 000,00 - R600 000,00 per year
