We're looking for a Principal Solutions Consultant & Enablement Specialist – Sage X3 to lead strategic presales engagements, champion solution excellence, and elevate enablement across our Sage X3 ecosystem.
This is more than a presales role—it's an opportunity to become the trusted advisor for enterprise customers, the technical authority for Sage X3, and the driving force behind developing world-class solution consulting capabilities. You'll work alongside sales leaders, executive stakeholders, implementation teams, and business partners to help organizations embrace digital transformation while empowering teams to consistently deliver exceptional customer experiences.
As the Sage X3 subject matter expert, you'll influence major customer decisions, lead complex solution engagements, mentor consultants, develop enablement programmes, and establish best practices that improve win rates, accelerate partner capability, and strengthen presales excellence across the business.
Location - 3 days per week out of our Johannesburg office.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Presales Leadership
Lead presales strategy and execution for strategic, enterprise, and high-value Sage X3 opportunities.
Partner with Sales teams and Business Partners to develop compelling solution strategies that maximise revenue growth and win rates.
Support opportunity qualification, account planning, and deal strategy throughout the sales lifecycle.
Act as a trusted advisor by understanding customer business objectives, transformation initiatives, and operational challenges.
Build and maintain executive relationships with C-suite and senior business stakeholders.
Drive value-based selling by articulating measurable business outcomes, return on investment (ROI), and long-term customer value.
Discovery & Business Process Consulting
Facilitate executive discovery workshops, business process assessments, and requirements-gathering sessions.
Analyse current business processes and identify opportunities for operational improvement and digital transformation.
Map customer requirements to Sage X3 capabilities and industry best practices.
Develop solution recommendations aligned with customer business objectives.
Produce clear business requirements, solution documentation, and recommended outcomes.

Present solution architecture, business value, operational efficiencies, and ROI to executive stakeholders.
Support technical and functional solution architecture discussions throughout the sales cycle.
Enablement Strategy & Execution
Internal Enablement
Develop and execute Sales and Presales enablement strategies that improve organisational capability and sales effectiveness.
Design onboarding programmes, competency frameworks, and structured learning pathways for Solutions Consultants.
Deliver product, industry, consultative selling, and methodology training.
Drive adoption of presales standards, methodologies, and best practices.
Measure enablement effectiveness through defined success metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Business Partner Enablement
Additionally, the role will:
Maintain a centralised repository of reusable presales assets.
Ensure all content remains current with product enhancements, market developments, and industry trends.
Promote knowledge sharing across internal teams and Business Partners.
Competitive & Market Intelligence
Monitor ERP market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity.
Develop competitive positioning, objection-handling guidance, and sales enablement materials.
Share market intelligence with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Business Partners.
Contribute customer and industry insights to go-to-market and product marketing initiatives.
Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor and coach Solutions Consultants and Associate Consultants.
Provide guidance on customer discovery, demonstrations, solution design, and executive engagements.
Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing sessions and communities of practice.
Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and presales excellence.
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex presales opportunities.
Provide leadership support to the Presales Manager and contribute to strategic planning and capability development.
Presales Operational Excellence
Champion adoption of Presales Minimum Acceptable Standards (MAS).
Drive consistency, governance, and quality across all presales engagements.
Ensure CRM accuracy, opportunity management discipline, and forecasting compliance.
Identify and implement process improvements that enhance presales efficiency and effectiveness.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure presales performance, enablement success, and business impact.
