About Kare Sheet Metal Products

At Kare Sheet Metal Products, we pride ourselves on precision engineering, quality craftsmanship, and cutting-edge manufacturing technology. As we expand our production capability in Pretoria West, we are looking for a skilled, safety-conscious CNC Laser Operator to join our team and drive high-standards production on our advanced CO2 and Fiber laser systems.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Setup & Operation: Safely prepare, set up, calibrate, and operate CO2 and Fiber CNC laser cutting machines for high-precision sheet metal fabrication.
Material & Nesting Management: Interpret technical engineering drawings (DXF/DWG formats) and execute optimal nesting programs to minimize material scrap and maximize yield.
Quality Assurance & Tolerances: Perform regular first-off and in-process quality inspections using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to guarantee strict compliance with engineering specifications.
Preventative Maintenance: Execute daily and weekly routine machine maintenance, including optical lens cleaning, nozzle alignment/replacement, assist gas monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
Workshop Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean, safe work station and adhere rigorously to factory health and safety protocols.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC laser cutting machinery (CO2 and Fiber).
Technical Proficiency:
Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and DXF/CAD files.
Strong shop math and geometric measuring skills.
Experience with nesting software (e.g., Lantek, SigmaNEST, or machine-native software) is highly desirable.
Attention to Detail: Precision mindset with a sharp eye for edge quality, cut speed adjustment, and material kerf tolerances.
Work Ethic: Reliable, proactive, and capable of working efficiently in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
