We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Waterjet Operator with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC waterjet cutting systems to produce precision components from a variety of materials.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of material nesting, and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, calibrate, and operate multi-axis CNC waterjet cutting machines. Select appropriate abrasive flow rates, water pressure, and nozzle sizes based on material type and thickness.
Programming & Nesting : Load, modify, and optimize CNC programs (G-code). Perform material nesting to maximize sheet utilization and minimize waste.
Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure strict compliance with blueprints and tolerance specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on the waterjet system, including nozzle/orifice changes, high-pressure pump seals, and tank cleanouts.
Material Handling : Safely load and unload raw materials (metals, plastics, composites, or stone) using forklifts, overhead cranes, or vacuum lifts.
Position Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of verified experience operating industrial CNC waterjet cutting machines.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with waterjet software (e.g., FlowMaster, OMAX Layout/Make, IGEMS, or equivalent).
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical schematics.
Solid understanding of standard feed rates, pressure settings, and tolerances.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Certifications: Forklift or overhead crane certification is a strong plus.
