My day would consist of dealing with a diverse group of people from the guests to colleagues.The best part of my day would be dealing with the guests and exceeding their expectations, from ensuring check ins are done on time to creating a great experience for the guests. If problems arose within the hotel team, the team would come together to solve the problems quickly in order to maintain hotel's high standards and keep guests happy. 

Through dealing with guests at the first and last point of contact of the hotel, I was able to learn to be efficient and competent in many hotel operations. Management were open and eager to teach and mentor, and this made it easy to ensure the different departments were able to work together effectively, and this in turned allowed me to learn tasks and responsibilities beyond my job description. The workplace culture allowed for ones individuality to be expressed, and as an individual I was able to gain the trust and support of colleagues and my managers, which in turn allowed for me to grow and mature within the ranks of the hotel.

The hardest part of the job was when I did not have my cup of coffee during the day, other than that no obstacle was left standing as there was always the great support of the wonderful people of the hotel.

The most enjoyable part of the job was creating experiences for as many guests as possible, and ensuring that our regular guests always felt at home. 

The negative experience were deemed vital as this allowed me as an individual and team player of the hotel to constantly try to break the expectation barrier, and effectively grow and become a better hotelier.

Working for Parkinn was a great experience, I have worked in so many hotels before but the experience I got at Parkinn was exceptional.  Parkinn gave me the opportunity to explore within the industry I have been a chef for many years & I needed a change of career & luckily Radisson group does provide the opportunity to grow & I immediately jump at the opportunity. I got the opportunity to do a cross training for switchboard & I loved it whilst I was busy with the switchboard & I got to learn more about operah system & assisting the reservations department with easy staff & if all the agents where on calls. I would ask the guest if it was availability checking or creating a booking then I would go on & create the booking, then next I went on with my cross training to reservations department & I totally enjoyed training in reservations I never looked back Parkinn gave me the opportunity to grow & become a reservations agent.

Stress is a key issue in many working environments. People get overworked and they burnout. This causes stress related illnesses and absent employees and that’s bad for everyone, especially the employees! For some people it is in their nature to work extremely hard and not want to let people down, so managerial instruction to take half a day off or to partake in an activity in work time helps to fight this stress and burnout.

There needs to be a distinction between enjoying your work and enjoying your job. You might love the work you carry out as part of your job but might not like the job itself. What is meant by this is that you might not get on with colleagues or that the office you work in is a boring place without an atmosphere and it makes everything else but the work difficult.

Having a fun atmosphere in the workplace can make things better for employees, whether they love the work they do or not.

My day at work is you get in you check your handover from the previous shift, check that all staff is present for their shift.
Go to the chef in charge to check if all is in order for the day and tell
him about special requirement, bookings and the occupancy for the night.
check stock received in the bar and all the prep that has been done for the shift.
We hold a briefing each shift to let the staff know what is happening ,
especially low and out of stock items, Vip guest, special request and their sections for the shift.

the hardest part about the job is when new things are being introduced and there is no man power, and there is high occupancy.
as when that happens, everything changes.

the most thing i enjoy about my job is the Team that i work with.
They are always positive, work smart and hard, team player.

Most of the staff where a nice crowd to know ,unfortunately salaries were never very good as the hotel always seemed to be financially challenged and no one got a pay rise of any kind for about 4 years. The hotel also went thru a few different general managers which wasn't always easy to cope with as there were different ideas and personality clashes. I learnt a lot about different cultures and management styles but all in all a reasonably friendly environment to work.

The Radisson Hotel is the best learning school to start of your career. I love the fact that the property provides you with the opportunity to deal with managerial activities and have authority to do more and learn quicker. It is always great coming to work with positive and helpful colleagues that creates an enjoyable working-environment.  I have learned how to work under tremendous pressure, to meet short-notice deadlines, have the ability to stay calm and positive around employees even under difficult circumstances and have the initiative to create your own ideas to better where possible.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at the company is that as a staff we all are aiming the same thing to improve ourselves and the company into a better level 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The stress full part is that per day the is too much of work and we have to make sure that we finish the work of the day ,because if we didn't we will be putting ourselves in too much of pressure 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work inviroment is very good because everyone knows what to do , so everyone focuse on his or her task

At work every day i make sure that i work hardly towards the duties of the day.
 I learn how to deal with different peoples and thier religions.I laern how to treat a guest whether if the guest is wrong. I learn a lot about doing bookings,arrivals, expedia, gds.

The management is good no comment about it.
 my co- workers , we assist each other get to know our weakness, and strenght. I apply my knowlegde to them.

The hardest part of the job is when the hotel is full so i have work quick as much as i can and i have to make no mistakes.

The enjoyable part is to done my work properly.

The beginning was great, then I guess stress led to bad management and ridiculous working environment for me personally.

I was emotionally and physically exhausted in the end...too much so to even stand up for myself and seek legal advice.
I experienced extreme bullying tactics and got sick so often.
They once told me to prove the holidays I worked,  knowing that it was impossible without their help which they had no intention of. I asked for the fingerprint entrance and exit evidence... they just declined.

My typical day is welcoming guests, take reservations for the restaurant. Confirm all bookings made. Make sure that the restaurant is in order and that all guests are happy. Make sure that enough stock is ordered. Make sure that waiters are doing there job and taking control of the floor. In the past year I've learned how to take control of each situation and fix the problem. The hardest part of my job is to say "No" to a guest, because I have a "yes I can" attitude. The thing I enjoy most is making the guest smile.
