Role Description
We are seeking a Junior Graphic Designer & Marketing Assistant for a part-time (2-3 days a week) remote position based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town, with an opportunity to go full-time. In this role, you will be responsible for creating visual assets, designing compelling graphics, supporting branding projects, and assisting with logo and typography design. Additionally, you will collaborate with the marketing team to support campaigns, manage social media content, and ensure brand consistency across all platforms. This dynamic role requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and a proactive approach to contributing to innovative marketing and design initiatives.
What You’ll Do:
- Assisting with design of digital and print materials (brochures, presentations, signage, event collateral etc).
- Collaborating on logo designs
- Create engaging video, photo, and graphic content for social media campaigns and internal communications.
- Manage and grow multiple social media accounts with brand-aligned content.
- Apply social media best practices: trend analysis, A/B testing, and performance reporting.
- Manage and schedule content across multiple social media accounts.
- Assist in creating email campaigns for clients
- Prepare monthly digital reports to evaluate campaign performance.
- Contribute fresh ideas while respecting brand guidelines and culture.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and team to deliver cohesive, brand-aligned creative solutions.
Qualifications
- Skills in Graphics, Graphic Design, and Logo Design
- Experience in Branding and a strong understanding of Typography
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Knowledge of digital marketing principles and techniques is a plus
- Strong ability to be and experience working remotely
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience designing creatives for ad campaigns (ex: Meta, Google Ads)
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Degree or certification in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field
- Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Deep understanding of social media principles — algorithms, engagement strategies, and content optimisation.
- Portfolio of professional or academic projects (applications without portfolios will not be considered).
- Own transportation if needed to help on a client shoot-day
Pay: From R5 000,00 per month
