Duration: 18 Months
Stipend: R8 000 per month

About the Opportunity
A client is seeking ambitious and career-driven Electrical Engineering graduates for an 18-month internship programme based in Irene, Centurion.
This opportunity is designed to provide graduates with valuable workplace exposure, technical development, mentorship, and hands-on industry experience. Successful candidates will participate in practical engineering activities while receiving structured support to accelerate their professional growth.
The programme forms part of a strategic talent development initiative aimed at identifying and developing future engineering professionals for long-term opportunities within the industry.
Purpose of the Role
The Electrical Engineering Intern will support engineering and technical teams in various operational, maintenance, project, and administrative activities while gaining practical workplace experience within a professional engineering environment.
The successful candidate will be exposed to real-world engineering challenges, industry best practices, and workplace processes to enhance both technical and professional competencies.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist with electrical engineering projects and technical activities.
- Support maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and installation activities.
- Participate in inspections and quality assurance processes.
- Assist with engineering documentation and reporting.
- Support project planning and project administration activities.
- Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements.
- Participate in learning, coaching, and development initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams and other stakeholders.
- Complete all assigned workplace learning objectives and performance requirements.
Minimum RequirementsQualification
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Completed).
Experience
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Successfully completed the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component required for the qualification; OR
- Have a minimum of one (1) year relevant practical experience within an Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, Maintenance, or Technical environment.

- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
