Introduction:
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Sales & Marketing Engineer to drive business development, sales growth, and market expansion within the engineering and construction sectors.
The successful candidate will possess extensive technical knowledge of Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering disciplines, combined with a proven ability to identify opportunities, develop client relationships, and secure contracts within the industrial, mining, sugar, ports, and related sectors.
The role requires a strong existing industry network, a proven sales track record, and the ability to market and promote the company's engineering, fabrication, construction, maintenance, and project services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the sugar, ports, mining, manufacturing, and industrial sectors.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key industry stakeholders, decision-makers, consulting engineers, project managers, and procurement professionals.
- Utilize an existing network and industry database to generate qualified leads and business opportunities.
- Promote and expand Channel Construction's market presence, brand awareness, and business footprint.
- Market the company's capabilities relating to:
- Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction
- Pressure Vessel Design and Fabrication
- Storage Tanks and Process Equipment
- Mechanical Installation Projects
- Services and Maintenance Contracts
- SMEIP (Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Piping) Projects
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial presentations to prospective clients.
- Coordinate and assist in the preparation of proposals, tenders, quotations, and commercial submissions with the marketing and project management teams.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities and manage the sales process from lead generation through to contract award.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates on business development activities, sales performance, opportunities, and key performance indicators to senior management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking functions.
- Travel as required to client sites and project locations
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Mandatory:
- Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering qualification (Degree, Diploma, or equivalent)
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience related to sales and marketing within the Engineering and Construction Industry
- Existing network and industry database with established contacts in relevant sectors required.
Preferred:
- Extensive SMEIP engineering technical knowledge and understanding.
- Proven track record of successfully securing projects and contracts within industrial and engineering sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, client relationship management, and strategic sales.
