GhostTraders is an online trading academy built around Smart Money Concepts and institutional trading methodology. With over 14,500 students across Africa and beyond, we build products, tools, and learning experiences that help everyday traders understand how financial markets actually work. Our team is small, focused, and deeply embedded in the trading world. Everyone here understands the product because we use it ourselves.
We are growing our product and digital team and we are looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer who can help us design experiences that are clear, functional, and trusted by traders at every level.
The Role
You will work closely with our founding team to design and refine the digital products and interfaces that our students and traders interact with daily. This includes our academy platform, marketing pages, internal tools, and an upcoming SaaS product focused on trading accountability and risk management.
This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to own designs from research through to handoff, communicate your thinking clearly, and work within an existing design system while also helping to improve it.
What You Will Do
- Design user interfaces for web products including our academy platform, landing pages, and internal tools
- Conduct UX research to understand how traders use our products and where friction exists
- Build and maintain reusable components within our Figma design system
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure designs are implemented accurately
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs across multiple breakpoints
- Design marketing assets and content in Canva for social, web, and campaigns
- Present your design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Assist with WordPress page building and basic front-end implementation where needed
What We Are Looking For
- 1 to 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, ideally on digital products
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates your design thinking process, not just final screens
- Solid understanding of UX research methods including user interviews, usability testing, and journey mapping
- Proficiency in Figma including components, auto layout, variants, and design systems
- Familiarity with WordPress as a publishing and product platform
- Basic understanding of SEO and how design decisions affect search performance
- Strong working knowledge of Canva for content and marketing design
- The ability to explain design decisions clearly to people who are not designers
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Advantageous
- Experience implementing UI designs using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Familiarity with financial products, fintech, or trading platforms
- Understanding of Smart Money Concepts or institutional trading methodology
- Experience designing for SaaS or subscription-based products
