See more details related to the role below, which is available on a permanent full-time basis commencing at the earliest possible date as a Senior Actuarial Analyst within the Actuarial & Analytics unit.
You can look forward to
Reserving – Lead the preparation and delivery of reserving and reserving-related inputs for quarterly, annual, and local Group reporting requirements, including SAM regulatory reporting and IFRS 17 financial statement disclosures.
Group Reporting – Prepare and review reserving inputs for international Group IFRS 17 reporting, management reporting, financial planning activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Financial Planning and Forecasting – Provide specialist reserving expertise and key inputs to support financial forecasting and planning.
Stakeholder Engagement – Engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders on reserving matters. Support IFRS 17 and SAM audits and HAF reviews through active engagement, preparation of documentation and resolution of queries and recommendations.
Reporting and Insights – Produce high-quality reserve reports, analyses, and commentary to support regulatory submissions, financial disclosures, committee inserts and management decision-making.
Data Quality and Process Enhancement – Contribute to furthering development of the Compass Insure data warehouse and related initiatives by providing reserving expertise, supporting the optimisation of data extraction processes, and driving improvements in data quality, governance, and reporting efficiency.
You come equipped with
Nearly or newly qualified actuary (FASSA, FIA, or equivalent internationally recognised actuarial qualification).
Degree in Actuarial Science or a related quantitative discipline.
Prior management experience preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' experience within the non-life insurance industry, with significant exposure to reserving and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to interpret, distil, and communicate complex actuarial and financial information
High degree of attention to detail, quality orientation, and a commitment to sound actuarial governance, regulatory compliance, and reporting excellence.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in SQL and Power BI.
Experience with ResQ reserving software would be advantageous.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with professional proficiency in English.
