The successful incumbent will need a qualification in either Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering and a technical understanding of boilers, pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
Position details:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Regional Manager
Primary Purpose: The Production Technician will be responsible for managing procurement, production data, monitoring boiler house efficiencies of the various sites as well as the required weekly reporting and support of the Western Cape regional activities.
Travel requirements: Office based, travel to clients and sites.
Location: Pinelands, Cape Town
Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
A formal Engineering qualification (either Chemical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical), National Diploma or higher from a recognised institution.
2 years Operational experience in a plant or site.
Good administration, data capturing and filing skills.
Good trend and graph interpretation skills (Excel).
Computer literate (MS Office suite).
Good Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
A technical understanding of the boilers, pumps, valves and other mechanical equipment.
Be prepared to undergo further training or studies.
Good command of English and strong communication skills (speak, read, write) to engage with clients.
Vehicle with valid driver’s license is essential.
Must be self-driven, punctual, and reliable.
Positive and proactive engagement with the production and regional team.
