A strategic partner in energy management for major blue-chip companies has an opening for a Project Engineer within its Gauteng regional office. The Project Engineer reports into the Engineering Manager. This is an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to join a dynamic team and take the initiative in executing the various projects.

Key external relationships: Contractors, clients personnel, various stakeholders
Primary Purpose: The Project Engineer will be directly responsible for executing projects within the Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and North West provinces.
Travel requirements: Required to travel frequently, sleep out rarely.
Job description / core competencies:
The Project Engineer will be directly responsible for executing projects within the Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West provinces that includes the following key performance areas:
Evaluation, initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring and closure of a project;
Develop project budgets, track and report on project costs versus budget;
Monitor and manage the project timing plan and take appropriate action as necessary;
Maintain a project file that documents all aspects of the project;
Manage contractors to ensure the project is delivered to the defined specification and client expectations;
Communicate regularly to the various project stakeholders.
Location: Bedfordview, Gauteng
Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Engineering Degree (B.Eng/BSc Mech, Chem, Electrical, Mechatronics);
3 years relevant working experience;
Experience in systems integration projects (troubleshooting, design changes, upgrades);
Have experience or an interest in energy and steam generation plant, fuel (coal, HFO, biomass) management, water treatment;
Past experience with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 compliance;
Good interpersonal skills to support working with contractor and client personnel at all levels;
Be willing to work extended hours and travel at short notice as the need arises;
Be motivated by challenging circumstances;
Be a self-starter and take initiative;
Exhibit resourcefulness;
Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and MS Projects;
Exhibit a good command of the English language (Speak, read, write);
Have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
