Manager with a BEng/BSc Mechanical or Mechatronics and 5 years plus experience in product manufacturing in/with multi-disciplinary teams needed to coordinate, plan, and direct the pre-production & industrialisation department. You will be responsible for prototype assembly of fuse products, rapid prototyping and small batch production, product industrialisation, commissioning of tooling and fixtures and product testing and evaluation.
Ideal candidate will have experience inindustrialisation of products for volume production; design of injection moulds, production tooling and assembly jigs; statistical analysis of data; dimensional/tolerance analysis; creation of works instructions, inspection, and test instructions; mechanical and electronic assembly principles for high volume production; understanding of latest production & manufacturing methodologies and computer aided design and engineering software.

Job description / core competencies:
Coordinate, plan and direct the Pre-Production & Industrialisation department to meet business requirements.
Recommend design updates to improve cost, manufacturability and reliability of components and products.
Prototype assembling of fuse products to required standard to meet product specification.
Assess and advise company of product/component obsolescence and recommend alternate solutions.
Assess product performance weaknesses, make design recommendations, and implement approved improvements.
Work-load planning for department.
Ensure smooth transition of products from development to manufacturing.
Rapid prototyping of designs and small batch production.
High level facility management (mechanical workshop capability).
Provide support to investigate problems and resolution of production issues.
Drive the ECP process where relevant.
Provide support to production, to optimise test methods and processes.
Provide technical support to suppliers (incl. PCB manufacture and assembly).
Develop competent staff to meet requirements of the department.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Required Qualification
BEng / BSc Engineering Mechanical or Mechatronics.
Required Knowledge Areas and Experience.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrialisation of products for volume production.
