Project Engineer (Mining / EPCM Projects)
Our client, a reputable organisation within the mining and EPCM sector, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage and coordinate mining-related engineering and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and according to the required quality standards. This position will be based in Irene, Centurion, with travel to various project sites as required.
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project engineering within mining, EPCM, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience working on mining infrastructure, plant, underground, or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, engineering processes, and mining operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management software.
- Knowledge of mining health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, and operational teams.
- Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
- Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and site activities.
- Assist with project budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Identify risks, delays, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Ensure compliance with mining safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in inspections, risk assessments, and quality control processes.
- Provide regular progress updates and technical reports to management and clients.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
