Manage and support all administrative and operational functions to drive excellence and meet client requirements. The successful candidate will oversee fleet operations, optimize transport capacity, and lead diverse teams to achieve Mr Movers’ strategic objectives. You will be responsible for analyzing statistics, distilling complex ideas into actionable solutions, and ensuring the seamless delivery of logistics services across our regional footprint.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Matric (Essential); Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration (Highly Advantageous).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ operational experience in the logistics or courier environment, with at least 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role.
- Technical Skills: Advanced MS Excel proficiency (pivot tables, charts, and complex formulas) and experience with fleet tracking/logistics software.
- Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of the LRA and BCEA.
- Licensing: Valid unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license and own reliable transport.
- General: Ability to work beyond scheduled hours, travel as required, and work independently within the boundaries of Mr Movers policies.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities1. Operational Excellence & Fleet Management
- Site Oversight: Oversee overall site operations and administration to ensure 100% compliance with SLAs.
- Fleet Tech: Manage fleet operations including tracking, fuel consumption control, vehicle maintenance, and safety checks.
- Strategic Planning: Proactively source and forecast truck capacity across operational corridors to meet fluctuating demand.
- Optimization: Improve logistics by bringing in new ideas to optimize truck loading, reduce cost-per-ton, and drive cost-saving initiatives.
2. People Leadership & Administration
- Team Growth: Manage and motivate diverse teams; grow productivity through performance management and staff training/induction.
- Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with transporters and clients at various organizational levels to ensure reliability during peak periods.
- Compliance & Risk: Oversee transporter onboarding and maintain legal compliance across all logistics functions.
- Data Integrity: Manage and track Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and maintain accurate operational records.
3. Analytics & Reporting
- KPI Management: Perform quality controls and compile daily/monthly reports on efficiency, capacity utilization, and performance.
- Decision Making: Make quick, clear decisions and use process mapping to solve bottlenecks in a rapidly changing environment.
